It gives us great pleasure to announce the winners of the Photo of the Month August contest held from September 1-15. With an impressive number of votes cast (and a very close fight for the top spot), the flock has chosen its winners! And here they are. All winners will be individually contacted and instructed about prize delivery and other details.
The top 4 from this month's contest take the final four positions in the POTY 09 contest. Congratulations to them for this achievement as well!

About the Judge: The year 1987 saw Waseem Khan enter the field of photography when he bagged his first contract from the UB Group. 22 years later his portfolio boasts of pretty much every single big name from the Indian Corporate Industry. His current base is Bangalore from where he handles his advertising and fashion projects but he admits it is Fine Art Photography which makes his heart skip a beat. He plans to showcase his fine art work on landscape nudes in the near future at a prestigious gallery in Paris or London. Read Waseem's interview

GRAND WINNER OF Epson PictureMate PM215!

Waseem says:
There is so much going on in this picture. Yet the story being played out between the two kids dead center of the image is where the eye goes first. Evocative. Story telling at its very best. Perfect representation of a picture being worth a 1000 words.

This snap is good and it would be stretching the point to call it poignant.at best it depicts innocence.but there are many more sides to life and innocence is not even counted there.indian photography deserves works which mirrors its fundamenal needs, where innocences are lost every second and i dont tink tis snap lives upto that. infact all your notable enteries too seem gimmicky, all in the same business of grabbing eyeballs.

I would like to know why this was the grand prize winner. To me it looks quite fuzzy. I do not like how winners are selected in this site.
