It gives us great pleasure to announce the winners of the Photo of the Month November contest held from December 1-20.

The decision as always was a close one with the Flock weighing in as well as  the choice of the editors and our celebrity judge Sharad Haksar. After much debate and discussion, the flock’s vote finally swayed the result. Presenting the best of November 2009.

All winners will be individually contacted and instructed about prize delivery and other details.

About the Judge: Sharad Haksar is a world-renowned photographer with a passion for creating work that has never been done before. A true pioneer, this year he has released the first ever calendar in the form of a 3D camera lens. His work has also been nominated for the Sony World Photography Awards 2009. GRAND WINNER OF Epson PictureMate PM215!
Unnikrishnan Raveendranathan
Sharad says:
The image clearly stands out. It has been shot very well with a photojournalistic view. I like how the subject is looking away from the camera but at first glance you think that he is staring right at you. It is visually different.

The winning pic is a class apart, so is Nithin's click. But to understand what makes them great pics, visit some of these websites of some of the the world's greatest documentary photographers, also Google their interviews and build your understanding of photography before posting such blatant comments. Photography is not just about following a set of rules, its is also about knowing when to break them and seeing things different. You must see with the hear n mind, than simply with your eyes.

@Shivani
You are so shallow in understanding photography. The winning pic is just outstanding for its composition and makes you look at it again and again.Do you even see the multiple lines that are established in that shot? Do you see the unconventionality in it? Do you see the visual uniqueness there? The leopard shot is completely photoshoped with a dropped in sky, and to me it does not even deserve the third place. Maybe it might win something in a photo manipulation art contest, that too maybe.

Hi,

The selection needs to be improved.Fotoflock should display the number of votes near the names.Technically nothing in the winning pic.Its just a person wearing a different dress and just sitting.The runner up pics Nagesh's pic, Eyes are not focussed and they are closed and strong lights in front of the face. Even Nitin's pic, No eyes and expressions are bad.Very bad Background.Looks artificial and composition is not good.
In the above list of pictures, the great pictures are Dylan Luis, Stalin Ramesh and Murugesan
