About me

Presently I am working in the engineering sector. I am an amateur photographer having a professional mind for photography. I have taken photography seriously since 2001. I have completed Diploma in Photography and also a course in fashion photography from two renowned institutes in Kolkata. I love taking pictures of people and places. I am attracted to composition and colour but I am also very passionate about B/W photography.

Q&A

Why do you think your photo should win the Photo of the Year (POTY) Contest?
Because it is unique and very strong when it comes to composition. The photograph also depicts the real story of the effect of drought in the rural area. It forces us to think about water scarcity in the future looking at the child in the picture.

Who do you think is your biggest competitor?
It is very tough to pick a single entrant. Fotoflock Photo of the Year is a very challenging platform. All of the entrants have got an edge. The difference is so nominal that only the judging team can distinguish and pick the best.

How long have you been a photographer?
I have been taking photographs since I was 10 years old when my father, an amateur photographer, handed over me his Zeiss Icon camera. However I have taken it seriously since 2001.

What does photography mean to you?
Photography is my passion and hobby too. To be a good photographer is one of my aims in life.

What does your ideal day with a camera look like?
To me there is no ideal day for photography. I strongly believe that great photographs can be taken any day any time if the right moments are captured.

Why should the flock vote for your photo?
Everyone is now very much concerned about the water scarcity problem all over the world. This picture can be a campaign against deforestation, misuse of water, global warming etc.

I think the first shot is really great aesthetically and as you pointed it, it makes a lot of sense considering the water crisis
